{spotted}

Claire, a wonderful customer just emailed me a picture of her nursery - decorated with 3 golden retriever silhouette prints made by lemon drop studio (in sage, sky blue and lemon). Don't they look great? And what an awesome nursery, too. I want to sleep in there.

If you have purchased something from me and want to send me pictures of the items in your home, please do so, I am always delighted to see where they 'land'.

New Artist, New Week

Hey Little Lemon Lovers, thanks for coming back for another Monday feature: New Week, New Artist (or New Artist, New Week - say it however you want to!). If you missed last week's feature, you can see it here.

We are now on our seventh week, and it seems that this feature has been a hit. Thanks for sticking around to see all the new + fun shops that are featured.
And a huge THANK YOU to all of the Etsians that make these features possible. I love sharing all the talent with my readers!

Today I am going to introduce you to Natalia, who is the talented Etsian behind Natalia Araya. Natalia's jewelry is gorgeous. There are so many pieces from her shop that I want in my home, on my fingers, around my neck, in my ears and even in my nose!

Natalia, these are my readers. Readers, this is Natalia of Natalia Araya:

My name is Natalia, I was born and live in Costa Rica. My goal in life is to achieve simplicity… before Etsy I worked doing human resources and accounting for a company. I would spend all my breaks reading blogs online about people who had dreamy lives compared to mine at the time, doing what they loved.

I have been a jeweler for one year, 5 months and 2 weeks. My teacher has been jeweler for 30 years and is the biggest inspiration in my life. I never thought I had a chance, had no money for a workshop, here in Costa Rica it's impossible to find certain basic things, even getting a US account for using PayPal. But one afternoon over coffee my teacher laughed and said: " You suffer because you want to. You know you got what it takes to make a living with your jewelry." Sometimes all we need is a little push.

I quit my job without thinking about it and decided to live out of my last paycheck and list some pieces on Etsy. The rest is absolutely surreal. Today I wake when I wake - not to an alarm, wear flip flops instead of heels, and just spend long hours in my workshop. That's pretty much my story. When I worked in an office I was so depressed, and from this country is so hard to achieve certain things. I had to bring some 170 kilos machinery in a boat! We sometimes laugh at how cool would it be to live in the states and make a call and have things delivered to your door.

Long story short... my name is Natalia and each piece of jewelry I make is treated like how Horton treats the little flake on the flower.

Isn't Natalia wonderful? Isn't she inspiring? And isn't her jewelry breath-taking? Yes, yes and yes! And guess what makes Natalia even cooler, if that is possible... she is offering all lemon drop studio blog readers FREE SHIPPING on your orders. Make sure you let her know you're a lemon drop studio blog reader and lover and you'll receive free shipping. Yay!

Please go check out her shop and fall in love with something wonderful. Want to know a few of my favorites? Okay, I'll tell you.

My favorites from Natalia Araya's etsy shop are as follows: the classic pearl ring, the new take on classic pearl posts, and the twisting things around with turquoise necklace. There are many more!! There is not a single item in the whole etsy shop that I wouldn't want for myself, or to give as a gift.

Natalia can be found blogging, and on Facebook, Flickr and on Twitter - go find her and let her know how awesome she is.

Natalia, thank you SO much for being a part of lemon drop studio's New Artist, New Week. It is an honor to highlight you and your amazing talent. Thanks tons and tons!

My lovely lemons, thank you so much for coming back again! I hope you guys are enjoying all the wonderful features. They have been so much fun to do, and make Mondays a little more exciting! You know, something to look forward too! I'll see you all again soon! Thanks for reading!

If you have an etsy shop that you would like me to feature, or would like to nominate a shop to be featured, please email me at lemondropstudio@gmail.com and we'll get started. I like to have Monday features lined up a few weeks in advance.

mod mom-to-be digital baby shower invites

New. Rad. Modern. Amazing.

Four words that sum up lemon drop studio's latest - Mod Mom-to-Be digital baby shower invites. These beauties were created by me in Adobe Illustrator and they look oh-so-hip. (Is hip even cool to say anymore?!)

You guys, I have been on a roll today. I have been up since 3:45 am (it is now 6:45 pm) working on lemon drop studio prints, silhouettes and digital invitations. How many hours is that? Wait, I don't think I want to know. Trask told me my eyes are red. I haven't even looked in the mirror for hours. I don't know what know how I am still working and am not tired, and I don't even like coffee... perhaps I am magic. Not sure where this productivity and drive came from, but I like it.

So back to the Mod Mom-to-Be digital baby shower invites. They are in the etsy shop now. My favorite part about these fun invites are you can print as many as you want, wherever you want, however you want! lemon drop studio customizes the information to fit your party and changes the colors to match your color scheme and then sends you the file once the proof has been approved. BAM, it's that easy! You can then take the file anywhere and print however many you want! Or, they can even be posted to printing sites like Shutterfly or Snapfish. Cool, right? And what a deal at $12.

New Week, New Artist

Hey Little Lemon Lovers, thanks for coming back for another Monday feature: New Week, New Artist (or New Artist, New Week - say it however you want to!). If you missed last week's feature, you can see it here.

We are now on our sixth week, and it seems that this feature has been a hit. Thanks for sticking around to see all the new, fun shops that are featured.

Today I am introducing you to Kristi, who runs the wonderful etsy shop Zuzu Girl, where you will find amazing princess wands, darling headbands, ribbon wands, dream catchers and more. Her shop really is fantastic, and I can vouch for the quality - which is outstanding. I have had the privilege of owning one of Zuzu Girl's dream catchers for my son Taylor. I also bought one of the princess wands for my niece for Christmas and it's been a hit with the young and the young at heart. I'd personally recommend this shop for any birthday present in the future, or for any present, period. It's a delight.

I'll introduce Kristi now and stop talking...

I am a passionate woman, perpetual decorator, avid photographer, habitual consumer, Etsy junkie, blogging fool & mom of two that adores designing pretty little things. In October of 2008 I established zuzu girl handmade in attempt to share my designs with other moms like me. At zuzu girl, we offer one of a kind, thoughtfully designed, meticulously hand-crafted and kid approved accessories for stylish little princesses...inspired by one of our own. Our princess is the product tester, the model and the target market. And yes, her name is Zuzu.

I adore all these goodies and all these pictures, and I know you will, too. Take a look around Zuzu Girl's shop and enjoy all the pretty little things that she makes so well.

Kristi, thank you so much for being a part of lemon drop studio's New Week, New Artist. Not only are you a talented, caring person, you are a great cyber-friend! Thank you! You can also find Kristi on Twitter, and guess what, she blogs, too! I told you she was awesome!

My lovely lemons, thank you so much for coming back again! I hope you guys are enjoying all the wonderful features. They have been so much fun to do, and make Mondays a little more exciting! You know, something to look forward too! I'll see you all again soon! Thanks for reading!

marvelous mustaches

Confession time. You guys, I just can't stop making felt mustaches.

There has to be a name for this condition. It all started with me making a felt mustache on a stick. Taylor likes it, too.

Why felt mustaches, you ask. Because I wanted to make one for Trask to take to work so he can peek over the top of his cubicle wall and have a funny mustache (since he can't grow his own!).

After the first mustache, I was hooked. I have some (without the stick) up in lemon drop's etsy shop. These would be perfect for embellishing cards, pasting on pictures of your friends and family members or even for taping to your face for a night on the town. The possibilities are endless. Endless.

They also come in a magnetic mustache variety, too, so your fridge can have face fuzz, too.

By the way, I am offering free shipping on all mustache-related goodies in my shop, just because it makes me happy.

Please tell me I am not alone in this mustache loving phase of my life. Thanks.

happy hedgehog invites

I'd like to introduce lemon drop studio's newest creation - happy hedgehog invites! These fun little guys will be in lemon drop studio's etsy shop soon, but I wanted to introduce them here, first.

How did the happy hedgehogs come to be, you ask? Well, my sweet friend Julie requested birthday party invites for her daughter Audrey's first birthday and I was excited to try it! Julie wanted a cute, simple and fun invitation, and didn't want a traditional animal - so she asked if I could do a hedgehog.

The happy hedgehog invites measure 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches and fit into an A2 envelope, which will be included with the invites, in several fun color choices.

And isn't the hedgehog such a cute choice?! I used to have a hedgehog as a pet, by the way, and you know what, they look a whole lot sweeter than they really are, or at least than what mine really was.

I will let you guys know when the happy hedgehog invites are in the shop. There will be a few options for them, like printing your own or having me print them, as well as fun color choices and customized text.

I can't wait! Can you?

new look

My blog looks a little different, right? A little cooler, a little neater, a little... ummm, better. Okay, a LOT better!

I guess what I am trying to say is that my blog is amazing. Well, it's amazing because my dear, wonderful and super-talented friend of 13 years (wow!) Brianne just helped re-vamp my blog. Didn't she do an AWESOME job?!

For more examples of Brianne's endless talent, please visit her business website, Brianne Beigh Design/Photography. Brianne does great print and web design, and has a fantastic eye for photography as well. Brianne is always friendly, patient and helpful, and if she can put up with me and my crazy requests and ideas and lack of knowledge and know-how, then she can sure put up with any of you!!

Thanks so much, Brianne, I love lemon drop studio's new blog!!

New Week, New Artist

Hey Little Lemon Lovers, thanks for coming back for another Monday feature: New Week, New Artist (or New Artist, New Week - say it however you want to!). If you missed last week's feature, you can see it here.

We are now on our fifth week (thanks for sticking around!), and today I am introducing you to Kiva, who runs the wonderful etsy shop Farmstead Lady Designs, where you will find awesome handcrafted jewelry. Hmmm, Mother's Day is coming up... just planting the idea in your heads now, because maybe Ma wants something cute for her neck or wrists, or maybe you do... just sayin'.

I met Kiva on Twitter and have come to be a fan of her amazing jewelry, and will definitely be purchasing something soon, or forwarding links to the husband as subtle, or not so subtle hints! Sometimes it pays to be specific, ladies. Here's Kiva...

Howdy! I’m Kiva and even though born in the north, New Jersey to be specific, most think I am from the South. I am the owner, designer, and artist behind Farmstead Lady Designs – Handcrafted Made Beautiful. You will find jewelry pieces that are unique and created with a mix of semiprecious gemstones as well as glass, crystal and vintage pieces. I believe that if we just take the time to look around, there is much to inspire us. I also believe that beauty shouldn’t break the bank, so I try to make it affordable.

I have more ideas than I have time to create because I am a wife to a wonderful hubby that supports all of my crafty pursuits, a stay-at-home mom to a 6 year old Princess and a 5 year old Prince that I homeschool and they truly keep me on my toes, a friend to many, and a helpmeet to my bi-vocational hubby. My hubby often refers to me as Martha Stewart because I am always doing something – as spring comes full swing, you will find me outside cleaning out the flower beds surrounding the azaleas, rhododendrons, peonies, and hibiscus plants and also getting my garden ready because I do believe in slow food. This year the garden is being expanded and that has led to lots of seed starting and tilling. I wish I could grow chocolate…

Kiva has a great blog about her life on their 2 acre farmstead at Views from the Farmstead that you can see here. Kiva has also been kind enough to offer lemon drop studio blog readers 10% off any order from now until April 30th and free shipping - be sure to use the secret code: lemon drop. Kiva

Kiva, thank you so much for being a part of lemon drop studio's New Week, New Artist, I adore your shop and I am sure others will, too!

I like to have Monday features lined up a few weeks in advance.

new cards

Today has been a productive day making cards and getting ready for the Artisan Fair over Mother's Day weekend at the Jenkins Estate. Here are a few of the new cards - enjoy your sneak peek, and if you want a closer look, go visit them in the shop, and feel free to give them some love.

Remember, I love to do custom orders, so if you have something in mind that you'd like, please let me know!

I hope that everyone has a great weekend, and Happy Easter!

new

This little elephant card just got done with her photo shoot and will soon be up in the etsy shop, but she's tricky to photograph. The pink organza ribbon is very hard to spot... do you guys see it? If you do, pat yourself on the back, eagle eyes.

And we can't forget this little guy, just made today. He's a good card, sassy and fun, simple and cute, and gender neutral. I suppose I should call the card an 'it' rather than a 'he'. This card would be ideal for baby showers or congratulating new parents or parents-to-be, or baby daddies.

yo

lemon lovelies meet yo card. yo card meet lemon lovelies. I know you'll get along.

Here's lemon drop studio's latest card - simple, light-hearted and fun, as always. This little nugget of awesome is in the shop right now.

great treasury

lemon drop studio's magnets were just included in this fun treasury on Etsy. Feel free to go check out the treasury here, before it's gone!

Thanks to beezmiller for putting this great treasury together, I am so happy to be a part of it.

New Week, New Artist

Hey Little Lemon Lovers, thanks for coming back for another Monday feature: New Week, New Artist (or New Artist, New Week - say it however you want to!). If you missed last week's feature, you can see it here.

We are now on our fourth week (already!), and today I am introducing you to Helen, who runs two wonderful etsy shops, HMSDesign and FFFlowers. Both shops are wonderful, but I'm going to focus on what made me find Helen in the first place, her amazing funky fabric flowers. I just love the creativity and fun that goes into each of Helen's fabric flowers, and I love the buttons in the center, they are delightful.

Without further introduction, here's Helen!

Hello, my name is Helen and I love to create! I have tried many things in my time; dressmaking, knitting, crochet, quilting, embroidery, if its textile related I have probably had a go at it.
I live on the Wirral peninsula in NW England – I’m very lucky, it’s a great place to live with beautiful sea views and sunsets. If you are a golf fan we had the British Open here in 2006 - we had unusually hot and dry weather for it!
I first discovered etsy nearly 2 years ago through reading craft blogs. I was at home having given up work (in IT) to spend more time with my 2 sons, and looking for something to do with myself. After 6 months or so I plucked up the courage to open my first shop HMSDesign where I sell seashore inspired mixed media art, cards and handmade journals.
I soon realised that the photographing/listing took up a crazy amount of time and to have a shop that was in any way sustainable I would have to make some repeatable products. So I just carried on experimenting until I came up with my flowers. It took a fair bit of trying to get them just right and also to decide on the yarns to use; some which look as if they will be good just don’t work at all. And at the beginning of this year I opened FFFlowers and so far, so good!
For the future , I think there will be more and bigger flowers, and who knows what else? I don’t, yet…
Thank you so much, Helen, for being part of lemon drop studio's New Week, New Artist! Please go pay Helen's shops a visit, and then you can thank me later!

My lovely lemons, thank you so much for coming back again! I hope you guys are enjoying all the wonderful features. They have been so much fun to do, and make Mondays a little more exciting! You know, something to look forward too! I'll see you all again soon! Thanks for reading!

beautify the fridge

Check out lemon drop studio's latest - fabric covered button magnets - and boy are they fun! I just threw a set in the shop today, we'll see how they do! I love the fun fabrics, they are so sweet, simple and fun. Makes me think that you'll notice them and not the moldy leftovers inside the fridge!

I'll see ya'll tomorrow when I feature another great Etsy shop... stay tuned. In the meantime, I am off to enjoy the sunshine.
